Description:

Gwendolen Frere was the daughter of Judge Bertle Frere who arrived in 1897 and took up judicial duty in the British administration of Cyprus. She was an amateur artist who executed a series of watercolours of Nicosia and Kyrenia. This watercolour provides another awkward view of the Pentadactylos mountain from the north. The standpoint from which the watercolour was created is most probably the village of Thermıa. It portrays a stone built rural dwelling with subsidiary constructions such as an earthen oven.
