Discover more than 1,000 paintings produced by travellers who visited Cyprus between the 18th and 20th century displayed at CVAR’s four floor permanent exhibition area.
9 August 1958: American Consul Taylor Belcher sent the following telegram to the Secretary of State:
Every year the Centre of Visual Arts and Research receives thousands of children, and organises various educational programmes and workshops for schools and families. Our basic aim through these programmes is to transform a museum visit into a memorable experience for children and through creativity and fun, travel back in time and in the history of Cyprus from the 18th to the 20th century.
With these programmes we also aim to cultivate in children concepts and values such as acceptance, empathy and mutual understanding.
