Description:
Orig Avedissian belongs to the Armenian family of the Avedissian photographers who lived in Cyprus in the early part of the 20th century. The pencil drawing is of the church of St. George of the Greeks in Famagusta depicted from a narrow lane behind the church. It is a charming view of the town as was in the early 20th century when it was mainly inhabited by Turkish Cypriots, a few Greeks and altogether a small number of inhabitants.
