Description:

Of Russian descent, Olga Raouf came to Cyprus with her family in 1925. She taught music at the American Academy in Larnaca. In 1927, she married the Turkish Cypriot doctor Raouf Bodamyalizade. She is regarded one of the first Turkish Cypriot artists. Her style is of the traditional school of representational art with influences from the Russian school of art. This is apparent in the strong, vivid colours in the watercolour of the Cyprus Hills. She presents the different shades of light in a variety of vivid colours.
