Description:
Hambis Tsangaris studied under the Greek printer Tassos and then at the Institute of Graphic Arts of Surikov in Moscow. From 1987 to 2008 he taught graphic arts in Cyprus. Since 2007 he runs the school and museum of print making in Platanistia village. Various mythological, antique, Byzantine and medieval elements make the composition of a chromolithograph. The work belongs to the kind of artwork that was created by Greek Cypriot artists immediately after the Turkish invasion. It expresses the pain, sorrow, and longing for lost land and people.
