Inscribed on verso: Troodos, Cyprus

Description:

Hewitson, an artist and photographer from South Africa, must have visited Cyprus in the 1990’s and produced some watercolours. The picture concentrates on a row of old pithoi of the kind found in most villages in Cyprus. Some are made by red clay and some by argilus. Although portraying very traditional items, the composition presents a very modern outlook.
