Caterina: Last Queen of Cyprus” is an original stage play in English by Anthie Zachariadou, directed by Andreas Araouzos and designed by George Yiannou. Christina Marouchou portrays Queen Caterina, whose costume is a replica from a Cornaro portrait and is an actual exhibit at the CVAR.
In this play, Caterina Cornaro of Venice recounts her story, from the age of 14 until her death, her life in Cyprus and her bond with the island, as well as her tragic and oppressed status as a pawn of ruthless politics aiming at the island’s domination.
Two shows will be given on the CVAR terrace starting at sundown with a view of old Nicosia.
