STOFFE: Venetian Textiles in Cyprus

The Centre of Visual Arts and Research (CVAR) and the Embassy of Italy in Cyprus are delighted to announce the opening of STOFFE, an exhibition exploring the rich legacy of Venetian textiles and their enduring influence on the Cypriot society and its costumes.
Curated by Dr. Iosif Hadjikyriakos, this exhibition reveals the intricate connections between Venice and Cyprus, highlighting the shared artistic and cultural heritage of the two regions. From sumptuous silks and velvets to ornate patterns inspired by both Eastern and Mediterranean traditions, STOFFE sheds light on the pivotal role Venetian textiles played in shaping local craftsmanship and identity.
The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cyprus.
