USA ambassador Taylor Belcher sent to the Secretary of State the following report:
Turkish terrorist organization TMT yesterday issued leaflet ordering cessation of operations until further notice. This leaflet came a day after the Grivas leaflet announcing similar suspension of operations. As a result these leaflets island had first violence-free day since June 7. Past 60 days violence on Cyprus cost lives of 157. Of these 91 were Greeks, 61 Turks and five British.
