The American missionary Lorenzo Warriner Pease talks of his acquaintances in Larnaca

The American missionary Lorenzo Warriner Pease talks of his acquaintances in Larnaca:

Mr. Antonio-keeper of the Locanda, has recently returned from Italy, bringing with himself a couple of fine wagons and a female and her daughter, who he says are his wife and daughter, to whom he was formerly married. He has at the same time lived with another woman and with whom he has made an agreement, as I have been informed, that he shall live with both as his wives. They all rode out together this afternoon. This is the first instance of such shamefacedness that I have been acquainted with since I came to the East.
