In the archives of Ragusa we have the following testimonial:

In Ragusa a new commercial company is established between Captain Mathaeus Cromicich and Seraphino Marini de Bona, who represents 10 traders from Raguse, aiming to develop trade in various parts of the Eastern Mediterranean. The company has a capital of 56,350 aspers, 100 venetian ducats, 2 pieces of precious textiles and 12 pics of damask textile. Captain Cromicich agrees to make a voyage with his ship of 100 carro and manned by 22 sailors, to Volos or nearby and to invest the company’s capital in corn. Once he loads the corn on board, he will sail to Cyprus and sell it there at a profitable price.
