Gesta Regis Henrici Secundi describes the marriage of Richard to Berengaria:

In the month of May, on Sunday the 12th of the same month, the feast of St Nereus, Achilleus and Pancratius, Richard, King of England married Berengaria, daughter of the King of Navarre. His chaplain Nicholas was the officiant of the sacrament. On the same day Berengaria was crowned Queen of England in the city of Limassol by John, bishop of Evreux in the presence of the Archbishops of Appamea and Auch and also in the presence of the bishop of Bayonne and many others.
