George Boustronios related what happened during those first months of Queen Caterina’s rule:
On 3 Feb Sir Peter Mocenigo, the captain of the fleet came to Famagusta with twelve galleys and four galleasses and there were twelve horses on each galley. On the same day moreover, the turcopoles of Paphos brought Perico de Villafranca and Peter of Armenia. They placed them in irons in the galley.
