George Boustronios in his chronicle of Cyprus mentions the church of St. Francis in Famagusta:
Furthermore, Sir John Arognon died on the 20 August. And he was poor when he arrived in Cyprus but he was a Catalan from a good family and the king conferred many benefits upon him and married him to Lady Margaret, the daughter of Franceschin de Bandes giving him a fine income. He died, moreover, in Famagusta and he was buried in the church of St. Francis, a monk.
