A day in the life of American Missionary Lorenzo Warriner Pease during his time in Cyprus:

Monthly concert: I conducted the concert today, Mr. Charalambos was present. I have today nearly finished a map of ancient Cittium Larnaca and Scala which I have been preparing for some days. I think it will throw some light on the place. The pebbles south of the second castle extend about 250 paces inwards towards the town and appear rather settled for 70 more. The governor has sent forth his officers to gather another tax. The demogeron Apeitos, it is said, was opposed but the governor ousted him and called in the aid of Hadji Zacharias of Limasol.
