Travel Drawing Contest: Young travellers in the 21st century, Cyprus through your eyes

*Our children's drawing contest has been extended until 31 July 2022!

Within the context of International Museum Day, on 18 May, the Centre of Visual Arts & Research (CVAR) is announcing the 2nd Pancyprian Art Contest of travel drawing for primary school students, titled:

Young travellers in the 21st century,

Cyprus through your eyes

The children through their drawings are going to bring to life different perspectives of Cyprus, promoting the culture of the island, based on three categories:

People ∙ Monuments ∙ Nature

The drawing will be inspired from the travel journals, combining drawing and text together, in which the children will express some thoughts, feelings or/and incidents related to the picture they have drawn.

The contest is under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism.

The subject of the contest is based on the paintings in the collections of the museum, which were created by foreign artists who visited Cyprus from 1700 to 1960, and also the travelling journals in which the travellers, men and women, recorded their experiences and theirs thoughts during their trip.
