Description:

The drawing published in Yelio Magazine portrays the meeting of 7th December 1928 during which the Greek members of the Legislative Council tramped out of the chamber refusing to vote the Estimates presented by the British Colonial government. To this day, the layout of the House of Commons of the Republic of Cyprus follows the pattern of the House of Parliament of the United Kingdom and its former dominions. It diverges from those of continental Europe which have the shape of Greco-Roam theaters. It bears resemblance to spatial arrangements that can be found in British courts.
