The Cyprus Coast

White, Ethelbert (1891-1972)

Date:

ca. 1950

Description:

A member of the London group since 1915, the artist was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy. His paintings were used by the Cyprus Government Office in London to attract tourists, especially his views of Kyrenia. White’s watercolour The Cyprus Coast, reveals strong colours and a linear insistence builds up the rhythm of the hilly landscape of the Kormakitis area.
