Description:

A printed photograph of Kyrenia castle taken from the air forms the June page of the Cyprus Calendar (1950). Apart from the castle, it portrays the British Country Club and the Kyrenia District Courts built during the colonial period. At the time, as portrayed in the picture, the area between the courts and the harbour was but an olive grove, now densely built up. In the foreground, it is interesting to see one of the old buses circulating in Cyprus then.
