Description:

This watercolour affords a general view of the Larnaca salt lake with Hala Sultan Tekke in the distance. The loaf-shaped mountain of Stavrovouni appears in the background. Although vegetation surrounds the mosque, this is limited indicating that it is summer. The waters of the lake are receding leaving behind them a white strip of salt and the shore appears dry.
