Description:

Two storey houses were many at the seafront at Larnaca harbour and often portrayed by artists. The peculiar blend of Gothic arches serving as entrances on the ground floor with the quintessentially Ottoman elements of the second floor, in many cases featuring a protruding kiosk, captured the interest of the artists. The drawing depicts one such house. Next to it, stands a cart drawn by oxen, probably waiting to load cargo from the harbour.
