Description:
This is a contemporary watercolour of the antiquities at Hirokitia, a Neolithic settlement in Cyprus. The characteristic round structures of the settlement, huddled close together, are made of stone whereas the roofs were made of mud. The Hirokitia settlement was abandoned around 6000 BC and remained uninhabited for thousands of years.
