Description:

Freda Blois neé Johnson, visited Cyprus in the 30s and made many oil paintings of the towns and countryside. The picture emanates the dry climate and heat of the summer in Cyprus when the wheat crops are collected. The hills in the background suggest that the scene is in the Mesaoria area, towards the end of the Kyrenia mountain range.
