Probably a member of the crew of a ship, White depicts here Famagusta harbour with a row of ships waiting to dock. In the centre of the oval watercolour stands the Cathedral of St Nicolas Latin Cathedral of St Nicholas (Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque) but nothing much else can be discerned. Behind the walls lies the empty expanse of the plane surrounding the city.
