Description:
After 1926 the Empire Marketing Board took up the responsibility of spreading the idea of imperialism and the concept of the empire as beneficent. Posters and postcards were distributed to the public and many British companies incorporated the imperial theme in their advertisements. More posters continued being produced targeting tourism. ‘Famagusta’ portrays the sun-bathed medieval church of St. George the Latin and the imposing cathedral of St. Nicholas in an attempt to attract visitors to the town.
