Description:

White curtain with blue, red black and yellow horizontal stripes on the bottom and five rings on top that belonged to the Classen family. The Classens were Russian refugees who arrived in Cyprus in 1920 and left the island in 1959. The Classens lived at that time in one of the eldest surviving houses of old Nicosia – a 15th century mansion now known as the Lusignan House (Lapidary museum in nowadays) The senior of the Classens family, Augustus Classen, was employed by the British authorities as an agricultural officer. He was an expert in the weaving industry and part of his residence was used as a weaving workshop. He provided the government house with textiles.
