Description:

Codrington spent much time in Cyprus and travelled all over the island. His brushes and palette were employed to glorify the light and the colours of the landscape and to record most of the important monuments. Buffavento castle is here portrayed from a vantage point giving a full view of the mountains unfolding behind it. The ruins are of the lower level of the castle which was abandoned after the Venetian period.
