Frederic Carl Heidenstam, Swedish medical officer of Larnaca district, Chief Medical Officer of Cyprus, member of the Legislative Council, as well as Mayor of Larnaca, died on 4 May 1909.

Frederic Carl Heidenstam, Swedish medical officer of Larnaca district, Chief Medical Officer of Cyprus, member of the Legislative Council, as well as Mayor of Larnaca, died on 4 May 1909. At the request of the Archbishop of Cyprus, the Legislative Council passed a unanimous resolution expressing their regret for the great loss and postponed the meeting in honour and appreciation of the man. Two streets were named after the doctor, one in Larnaca and one in Nicosia. His tombstone in Larnaca was erected by his Cypriot friends with the following inscription:

Erected as a token of affection and esteem by his Cypriot friends and colleagues, in memory of Frederic Charles von Heidenstam, C.M.G. Chief Medical Officer. He served the Cyprus Government for nearly 31 years and died 4th May 1909.
