Description:

Sir Cedric Lockwood Morris, 9th Baronet, was a British artist, art teacher and botanologist. In 1950, he became a lecturer at the Royal College of Arts. During his visit to Cyprus in the early 1960’s, he visited Kyrenia and pained several views of the district including this oil painting of the hamlet Templos. Strong bold colours convey the winter scenery at Templos where the houses are sunk in lush vegetation. Cypress trees and palm trees but also the mountain peaks in the background define the topography.
