Description:
A view of the Troodos Mountains, extending towards the south of the island, from Platres affords a depiction of Akrotiri Peninsula and the sea. This view has been much depicted by British artists. Down at the shore lies Limassol town whose inhabitants and visitors frequented the summer resort of Platres. At Akrotiri is the second salt lake of Cyprus the first one being in Larnaca. Blues and greens in various shades create a charming watercolor.
