Description:
Terry Frost spent some time in Cyprus teaching at the Cyprus College of Art in Lemba village, Paphos after 1974. Inspired by the hot summer sun of the island he executed a series of paintings with the sun as their main theme. An oil of the Paphos sun series places the sun in the middle of four petals creating the image of a flower. Blue wavy lines are the artist’s statement on the geographical seclusion of Cyprus as an island. The work is executed in strong warm colours alluding to the heat.
