Description:

Roger Kemble Furse was an English art director and costume designer of stage and film. He won two Oscars for his designs of Hamlet. Here, he depicts the costume to be worn by Othello in the homonymous production at the Old Vic in 1938. The design of the costume abides by the dress code of the period of the story (16th C.). It was worn by Sir Ralph Richardson on Othello’s arrival in Cyprus.
