Description:
It is rather difficult to identify the location depicted in the watercolour. Cape Paphos is in the western part of Cyprus but the inscription “Greece” is confusing and could be explained as either a mistake by the artist or his intention to include the island of Cyprus as part of Greece. Small islands are scattered near the shores of Cyprus with no significant characteristics or habitation. This island in the picture could be anyone near the western shores.
