Primary School Programmes:

  • Exploring the Museum
A playful “observation and imagination” activity where students follow clues to discover paintings and objects throughout the museum, weaving stories with the help of a museum educator.
    Grades: 1–6 | Duration: 90 min | Free

  • Travelling in Cyprus
Children "board" an imaginary 19th-century ship and later an airplane, becoming explorers, artists, archaeologists, and casual tourists as they learn about Cyprus from early European travellers to the start of modern tourism.
    Grades: 3–4 | Duration: 60 min | Free

  • Nicosia: With a Hat and a Pencil
Inspired by artist Tessa Henderson’s 1985 journey through Cyprus, students reflect on her artworks and then go outdoors—hat and pencil in hand—to sketch Nicosia’s architectural heritage in the Old City.
    Grades: 5–6 | Duration: 90 min | Free

  • Cyprus in the Ottoman Era
A look into the social life and material culture of Cyprus between 1571–1878, encouraging children to explore, understand, and evaluate aspects of the Ottoman period and see their traces in today's world.
    Grades: 5–6 | Duration: 60 min | Free

Secondary School Programmes:

  • Tour with the Collector
A guided tour led by Dr. Rita Severis, the museum’s founder and collector. She shares personal stories, insights, and microhistories connected to the museum’s collection.
Grades: 1–6 (though offered under the "Secondary School" section, check grade alignment)
Duration: 60 minutes | Cost: €3 per student

  • Perspectives
A critical-thinking programme where students examine how artists’ backgrounds, perspectives, and contexts shape their representation of Cyprus. The activity encourages reflection on objectivity and subjectivity in art.
Grades: Lyceum (upper secondary) | Duration: 90 minutes | Cost: €3 per student

  • School Clubs & European Programmes
Tailored thematic tours and creative workshops for student groups affiliated with school clubs (e.g., photography, art, history, geography). A great platform for students to explore and create within their specialty.
    Grades: 1–6 | Duration: 60 minutes | Cost: €3 per student

At the same time, CVAR announces the 5th Pancyprian Art Competition for children aged 5–12,

under the theme: “Queens of Cyprus,” allowing young artists to express their imagination.

Saturdays at the Museum will be returning soon with even more activities!
We look forward to sharing new moments of creativity, inspiration, and exploration with you!

Wishing everyone a great start to the new school year!
