Swedish archaeologist Alfred Westholm describes the perks of an archaeological expedition on the Mediterranean coast of Cyprus

Swedish archaeologist Alfred Westholm describes the perks of an archaeological expedition on the Mediterranean coast of Cyprus:

A few miles outside of Kyrenia there is a marvellous swimming beach. Here the whole expedition will be camped in tents. The days will be spent in the water, the evenings dancing in Kyrenias hotel and the nights at the burning campfire. The whole thing has been elegantly planned and will be rather fun. I wonder if any archaeological expedition has ever had things as well arranged for as ours. Our leader Einar’s great spirit presides over it all, work as well as play, but the participants always have a wonderful feeling of unlimited freedom.
