20 May 1882

Lieutenant Colonel Donisthorpe Donne was kept busy during his duties with the Cyprus Military Police:

A man having stabbed another at Ay Vasili we had an exciting chase after him but he had too good a start of us to come up with him, so I secured his house with a Zaptieh guard, as well as some weapons we found in his house. One was a fine long yatagan which I annexed, as also a remarkable old blunderbass bearing the date 1765 with a muzzle as big as a railway bell.
