From the private journal of Lieut-Colonel Donisthorpe Donne:

I went on board early on the 5th and had a capital trip down the coast as Marriot’s guest. Strangely enough I stumbled across another whilom friend Tufnell, Sub-Lieutenant of the ‘’Cygnet’’ a brother of my companion at N. Sachwerfen in 1874. By him I learn he was married and in India. We had a rattling Gun – Room lunch on the strength of it. Arrived in Larnaca roads we landed in the Cutter and the middy getting us broadside on in the surf, we got no small ducking including the old version Sir A. Cunningham.
