20 September 1932: Rupert Forbes Gunnis (11 March 1899 – 31 July 1965) noted in his diary:

“Round the town with B and S, early lunch with Jones and then up to stay with Henneker-Heaton at Troodos. Endless friends all the way up. At the 26th mile found a little boy aged 12 who had walked all the way from Nicosia looking for work! I gave him a lift to Amiandos where I hope he may find some! At Troodos to the Club and saw everyone, at GH found Greenway of the F.O. Lord G's son a most interesting and amusing person.”
