18 May 1929: Just after Easter, Alfiros prepares to welcome the group at Vouni

“On the morning of Greek Good Friday, Lindros and I left Karavostasi with a lorry full of our finds bound for Nicosia. After many adventures and troubles we also finally arrived there in the afternoon. Einar had come in from Kyrenia, where the others had already gone, to take us out there as well. During all of Easter we ate well, swam for the better part of the day, made car trips and took walks, but in the evenings the Swedes astounded the other hotel guests with their charming dancing. A real upper-crust life! We are resting for a few hours in the capital before travelling on to our excavation sites. An entire company will come to Vouni. Lindros is going to make the big plan of the palace, myself I am of course Alfiros. Also Vivi will come along to enjoy Vouni before everything is all over. Einar has also promised to come as an abiding guest without archaeological thoughts during the final weeks. That will be a fine ending! I do not have time to write more, for lunch is waiting.”
