Description:

The artist’s works are of a historical value as they portray Cyprus of the early twentieth century from a Greek Cypriot point of view. This pen and ink drawing depicts a picturesque village lane probably in the Tembria valley. The stonework, the pitched roofs, the wooden balconies and the uphill cobbled path, all allude to villages like Kakopetria or Evryhou. Chicken roam loose amongst the houses, typical of then and now.
