Description:
This is a sketch from Le Tour du Monde taken from the outskirts of Larnaca. The town appears developing, with warehouses large buildings, and an industrial chimney. The latter was probably associated with the extraction of terra ubra from which Cypriots produced and exported coloring substances. A group of figures dressed in the Ottoman style appear in the foreground almost like merchants discussing prices.
