Çağdaş, Cevdet Hüseyin, 1926-2019

Tarih:

Description:

The Turkish Cypriot Cevdet Cagdas is an educationalist and museologist who painted extensively views of his country. Two youngsters are sitting on the low sandstone wall surrounding the grounds of Omeryie mosque. A two-storey house, reminiscent of the architecture of the early 20th century, emulates rather poorly the neo-classical styles of Greece. The remaining abodes, much humbler, are remnants of late 19th century construction.
