Description:
This pencil drawing presents a landscape which is defined in its Cypriotness by the portrayal of certain characteristics. In the lower right foreground, stands a Cypriot donkey while behind it unfolds a large expanse of terraced land. On the left-hand side, the artist has drawn two humble village houses; the kind that could be taken as animal sheds. But what catches the viewer’s eye is a lone Cypress tree challenging the tip of the hill. The artist’s work could be a sketch for an oil painting.
