Description:

This somewhat abstracted depiction of the Hadjigeorgakis-Kornesios Mansion takes elements of both the interior and exterior of the house, viewed from various perspectives, and compresses them into a single scene without distortion, making the image one of abstracted perspective rather than abstracted form. True to reality are the the intricately carved wooden pillar in the foreground, the limestone features, and the arch. Although otherwise flattened, the viewer still has a sense of depth as they glimpse into the inner courtyards typical of early 19th-century Cypriot houses and Ottoman-era inns (χάνι).
