Description:
Field Marshal Horatio Herbert Kitchener, 1st Earl Kitchener, surveyed Western Palestine and Cyprus. The results of the survey were published between 1881 and 1885. Kitchener performed the first ever survey of Cyprus in 1878 as a member of the Royal Engineers. His Trigonometry of Cyprus, published in 1885, still remains one of the most important surveys of the island.
