Description:
Cyprus was famous for its cologne and perfumes throughout the centuries and, since the British took over the country, a strong advertising campaign was launched in an effort to attract investors. The French responded by using basic local ingredients for colognes and perfumes produced by various companies and referred to as ‘eau de Chypre’. This advertisement is by the French company Sauze Frères. The Illustrated London News and other magazines often advertized similar products.
