This is one of the plates made by General Makryiannis about the Greek revolution of 1821 presenting the Ottoman attack against the Greeks in Chalkidiki. Fine details are noteble with numbers explaining the figures in a text. Gauche is used to emphasise the ships and the Greek attire.
