Sunday, November 23, 1930. Showed some local old women my books. After lunch H.H. and I down to Larnaca to see King Feisal and Emir Abdullh who were coming to see their father King Hussein who is very ill. They came on the Briony which wasn’t due till 6.00pm but when we arrived at 4.00pm to our horror we saw her in. However, we reached the landing stage just as the party stepped ashore from the pinnace. Greeted them, King F looks very distinguished but foul teeth. Emir A. in an Arab dress with a golden “jumbea”. Inspected G of H. of 100 men and all up to Nicosia and took them to their father’s house. We did the 26 miles from Larnaca in 35 minutes.
