After Louis of Savoy died in April 1462, Charlotte, Queen of Cyprus was devastated. Leto Severis continues the story:

On the 25th February 1485, Charlotte, tired and disappointed, decided to cede her rights to the throne of Cyprus to the ducal family of Savoy. In this way the Dukes of Savoy added to their coat of arms those of Cyprus, Jerusalem and Armenia. This testament was officially signed in Saint Peter’s in the Vatican. A copy of the testament is kept today in the State Archives in Turin, then a part of Lower Savoy.
