Rupert Gunnis, ADC to Sir Ronald Storrs, devoted much of his spare time to encouraging students to become Boy Scouts:

Amazed to receive a cheque of £2000 from Dolly’s lawyers. I had no idea she had left me anything. I can’t think why I have not heard before. It is very touching. Took 130 students to the top of St Hilarion and showed and explained everything. One boy fell down and broke his wrist so had to take him to hospital. Then to Bella Paise where I again took the brats round. Tea at Kyrenia with Tremlow.
